Witness with St John's Church

We believe the church should make a positive difference to the world.

Our congregation aim to hold a shared commitment to the common good, and to give generously of our time, skills and finances. A faith that does not produce works of charity and mercy lacks the central principle which invigorates true faith; the love of God and His creation. We are actively involved in a number of community groups which focus on local actions for social justice, peace and care for the environment.

"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can faith save you? If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, 'Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill', and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead."

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
