Funerals

Organising funerals

If you need to organise a funeral or memorial service and live in the parish (or the deceased lived in the parish), or you have a strong connection with the church or the parish, it would be a privilege for us to conduct the service for you, either at St John’s Church or at a Crematorium Chapel. If you live outside the parish or have no strong links, your own parish church should normally be approached first.

The clergy would be very happy to meet you to offer guidance on the content of the service. Funerals are always arranged in partnership with a local funeral director and we are happy to put families in touch with a firm who will support them professionally and sensitively. We will always spend time with the family of the deceased to help us to make the funeral as personal as possible and offer ongoing support and care where that is appropriate.

For more information, or to arrange a meeting with a member of the clergy, please contact the Parish Office on (office@stjohnsangelltown.church/0207 733 0585).

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
